Grand Rapids Community College paid a visit to Glen Oaks Saturday and beat the Vikings 92-76.
The win improved GRCC’s overall record to 11-5 and its Western Division record to 3-1. Glen Oaks dropped to 3-12 and 0-4 in league play.
The game saw the Vikings jump out to a double-digit lead with a 42-31 halftime advantage.
The Raiders would come out on fire from 3-point range, and would eventually make 8 of 19 from long range in the second half to pull ahead.
“I thought our energy was great, and the first half was about as good a first half as we could possibly play.” said Viking Head Coach David Victor. “The problem was, they got hot in the second half, and we couldn’t answer. We got into foul trouble and had to do some things we didn’t want to do, because those adjustments played into (Their) strengths. We need to be able to play defense without fouling, and we need to be able to finish the shots we had inside. If we did those things today, we come out on top.”
The Vikings next two games will be on the road against conference perennial powers at Lansing Community College on Wednesday at 7:30 and at Muskegon Community College at 3:00 on Saturday.
