Vicksburg proved to be too much for the Three Rivers softball team Saturday as the Bulldogs claimed a 5-3 victory in a Division 2 district semifinal game.
Three Rivers had nine hits in the contest but left eight base runners stranded to end the year with a 24-12 record. The Wildcats improved by seven wins from the 2016 campaign.
Kylee Nash scattered five hits and gave up two earned runs in the circle for Three Rivers. She struck out six and walked five.
Avery Slancik picked up the win for Vicksburg in a complete-game effort. She gave up two earned runs, struck out six and walked one.
Halle Carpenter doubled and singled to lead the Wildcats. Emma Thatcher (triple), Jessica Barnes, Nash, Amy Jo Tavernier, Tessa Hawkins, Erin Brady and Aislyn Sternbergh each had one hit. Thatcher, Brady and Hawkins drove in runs.
