In the fourth period, Jacob Cole rushed for a one-yard TD (Hernandez two-point run) and Hernandez found the end zone on a 79-yard run (conversion) failed.

“Tonight was another tough loss to swallow for the Bobcats with many mistakes against a big and physical Waldron team,” Burr Oak coach Ryan Stephens said. “It took us awhile to get things going on offense having several penalties and fumbling the ball numberous times throughout the game. We had bright moments here and there, but again lacked consistency and momentum. The Bobcat offensive line also struggled to block an aggressive Spartan defensive line which put heavy pressure on quarterback Braxton Hernandez all night long.
“Standing out on the night were both Braxton Hernandez and Jacob Cole. Hernandez picked up some big gains on quarterback scrambles. Hernandez also contributed to the defense with much needed sacks at right defensive end. Jacob Cole helped the Bobcat defensive line with 12 tackles against a hard running and big Waldron offense. Both Hernandez and Cole also teamed up to kick and recover an onside kick up the middle after the Bobcat’s first score in the 2nd quarter. We need more players like these two to make big plays which will help with the momentum factor.
Burr Oak returns home for the season finale Friday against winless Litchfield.
